Who created it?
Daccapo is an initiative of Caritas Diocesana di Lucca and Associazione Ascolta La Mia Voce Onlus and has found collaboration with the Municipality of Lucca, Municipality of Capannori, Sistema Ambiente and Ascit.

What is Daccapo:
Daccapo is a solidarity reuse centre where it is possible to donate objects that are no longer needed, have them repaired, transformed and relocated to a solidarity market. Two collection and repair centres between Lucca and Capannori and an Emporium where you can take objects by donating a solidarity offer. Useful, beautiful, economical objects capable of fueling a system that provides work and solidarity to people in disadvantaged situations!

What purpose does it have:
Daccapo is a project that contributes to environmental protection. Thanks to the recovery of material that would otherwise have been destined to become waste and thanks to the people who chose to donate to our centre, we have recovered more than 60 tons of furniture and 15 tons of clothing in the last six months of activity. In addition to this, Daccapo creates concrete help for people who are in serious situations of social and economic disadvantage and who, thanks to paths created in collaboration with social services and parish listening centres, can regain lost trust and possible employment opportunities. Furthermore, Friday and Wednesday are days dedicated to the free distribution of all material only for people sent by social services and listening centrers in our area.

The workshop
Inside the Pontetetto collection centre there is a carpentry, restoration, recreation and bicycle repair workshop run by professional craftsmen. Not only is the material that would otherwise be thrown away recovered, but people included in the project are taught a new trade.

Emporio
The emporium is the result of the work, both of the laboratory and of the storage and recovery of material, which is done in the warehouse by our volunteers. It is both a place open to all those who want to come and visit us, and a place where it is possible to access for free for people who have been certified, by listening centres and social services, the inability to pay.

What does Daccapo do with donated offers?
Daccapo invests the money collected to sustain itself from practical expenses (petrol, maintenance of two vans for furniture collection, bills, laboratory expenses, etc.) and above all creates job inclusion for those who are outside the job market and opens solidarity paths for people in disadvantaged situations.
