A new Sistema Ambiente service for used clothes and waste oil starts

TO THE STREET MARKET TO BUY AND... DISPOSE OF!

From 8:00 to 12:00 every Tuesday at the street market in Ponte a Moriano and every Saturday at the one in Piazzale Don Baroni in Lucca, it will be possible to bring used clothes collected in well-closed bags and plastic bottles full of used vegetable oils for disposal.

Their containers will be placed by Sistema Ambiente which thus wants to offer citizens an increasingly better and more widespread service.

A new Sistema Ambiente service for the recovery of used clothing and the collection of used oil will start on Tuesday 4 March. For this purpose, mobile collection points will be positioned in a visible and, above all, controlled manner, which will be placed every Tuesday in Piazza Cesare Battisti in Ponte a Moriano, the one in front of the theatre, from 8 to 12, and every Saturday morning, at the same time, near the underpass of the link road near Piazzale Don Baroni.

"This service represents an important opportunity for citizens - underlines the Councilor for the Environment of the Municipality of Lucca, Cristina Consani -. With this initiative we want to bring the collection directly to the most frequented areas, facilitating the delivery for those who have difficulty reaching the fixed collection points. The Municipality and Sistema Ambiente are moving towards citizens to make the service more accessible, efficient and dignified".

"With this initiative we offer citizens the possibility of disposing of used clothes and waste oil in complete safety and ensuring maximum decorum - explains the president of Sistema Ambiente Sandra Bianchi -. This itinerant service is in addition to the existing collection points and aims to meet the needs of those who have difficulty moving. We do it in conjunction with the markets, also to give greater visibility to these collection points".

Used clothes must be placed inside the container in well-closed bags, disposable plastic oil bottles must be placed entirely in the containers, and the transfer of liquid on site will be absolutely prohibited.
